Richard has had a
27 years of experience as a Psychotherapist.
His career began in New York City
working with young people with a diagnosed mental illness,
foster carers, foster children and children preparing
for adoption. He graduated from Columbia University
with a Masters of Science degree in 1978.
He migrated
to Australia in 1983 and worked in a broad range of
areas: child protection; medical patients, family counseling,
family support, and as a team leader and manager within
the welfare sector. Richard has also worked as a trainer
assisting and supervising workers who were providing
the clinical services to clients. In his private practice,
he works with children, young people and adults using
a few modalities: individual counseling; group counseling;
family counseling and relationship counseling.
Richard has a strong background in
working with difficult and complex issues. He adopts
a sensitive and engaging manner with others and his
down to earth style is accessible to a wide spectrum
of people. Richard enjoys his work and his supportive,
interactive style enables others to bring forth the
